Johannes is delighted to announce that he accepted the Professorship for Cello at the “Hochschule für Musik und Tanz” in Cologne, Germany. He will offer his expertise to a very select studio with a small number of students in order to give each student his full attention, while at the same time fully maintaining his international concert schedule.

The most established german music publication Fono Forum chose Johannes as their cover story for the march 2012 edition. In the same magazine he also got a five star review for his current Shostakovich and Britten album.
Up until now, I looked back to the 30s and 40s with black and white images in my head. Johannes is very proud to announce his new CD featuring the Cello Concerto nr. 1 by Dmitri Shostakovich and Benjamin Brittens Cello Symphony. He partners with the WDR Symphony Orchestra in Cologne and conductor Pietari Inkinen. The official release date for Germany is the 16th of january and the 30th of january for the US.
